7 Simple Steps
These 7 Ps are an established set of recognised marketing tactics. They can be used in any combination and depending on your growth goals, to the level that currently suits you and your business. Using these tactics to help your clients and customers and meet their needs in your target market is also known as using a ‘tactical marketing mix’. But you do not need to have a marketing expert either in-house or as an external strategic partner to get started on building your business.
Product
Product refers to what you are selling, including all of the features, advantages and benefits that your customers can enjoy from buying your goods or services.
Price
This refers to your pricing strategy for your products and services and how it will affect your customers.
Promotion
These are the promotional activities you use to make your customers aware of your products and services, including advertising, sales tactics, promotions and direct marketing.
Place
Place is where your products and services are seen, made, sold or distributed. If you are starting a new business, finding the right business location will be a key marketing tactic.
People
People refer to the staff and salespeople who work for your business, including yourself. Give your business a competitive advantage by getting and retaining the right people in your team for your customers.
Process
Process refers to the processes involved in delivering your products and services to the customer – being ‘easy to do business with’, ensuring a high standard of service, and saving time and money by increasing efficiency.
Physical evidence
Physical evidence refers to everything your customers see when interacting with your business.
